Q) What is the Batavia Foundation?
A) The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, assembled under the laws of the State of Illinois as a method of providing a long term, self-sustaining financial program to enhance the Batavia Public School system beyond the limits of normal tax support.

Q) What is the relationship between the Foundation and the Batavia schools?
A) The Foundation is comprised of a group of private citizens and is not a part of the school district.
There is, of course, good communications and cooperation between the Foundation and the school district. The Board of Education encouraged the formation of the Foundation and strongly supports its efforts.

Q) Who will make the decisions about enrichment projects funded by Foundation grants ?
A) Decisions are made by the Foundation Board of Directors. This Board meets monthly, with sub-committees meeting more frequently. The Grant Committee reviews all grant applications, and based on merit and criteria, are then recommended to the Board. The Board then will vote on awarding the grants. Grants are awarded in the Spring, and mini-grants are awarded in the Fall of each year.

Q) How can I make a Contribution?
A) Your check or pledge is always welcome. Regardless of the size of your donation, it will be gratefully received. Please visit our Donations page for the ability to make a donation online or print out a pledge form to send in with your donation.

There are also special ways you can give, such as memorials, naming the Foundation in your will or as beneficiary of a life insurance policy, donating real estate or other real property or giving a gift in someone's name. For more information, call (630) 937-8800.

Q) Are gifts tax exempt?
