These scholarship's are non-renewable and awarded only to a 2019 graduating senior at Batavia High School. Each application will be considered regardless of GPA and/or college/university preference.
Due Date: Friday, March 1st, 2019 by 4:00PM. Please print out your completed application and bring it to the Rosalie Jones Administrative Center at 335 W. Wilson St., Batavia. You must also include a copy of your official transcript and a letter of recommendation.
The Matthew J. Nena Scholarship has been established by his parents in loving memory of Matthew, who passed away on October 2, 2016. Matthew would have graduated with his classmates in May 2017, and this scholarship was first awarded starting with his graduating class. The scholarship is designed to honor college bound graduating seniors who have overcome a difficult situation in their life either academically, athletically, or personally.
For the students graduating in May 2019, there will be two $1000 scholarships awarded. The awards shall be paid directly to the school the recipients will be attending and is non-renewable. The school may be a college, university, community college, trade or vocational school, or a professional school.
The William Freiburger Scholarship has been established by the Batavia Tennis Team and those who loved William. William passed away unexpectedly due to a cerebral aneurysm on February 20, 2018, during his Senior year at Batavia High School. William would have graduated with his classmates in May 2018, and this scholarship was first awarded starting with his graduating class. The scholarship is designed to honor college bound graduating seniors on the Batavia tennis team who embodied William’s love for others and serving in his community.
